Partial discharge measurements on motors and generators can identify the weak spots in the insulation of stator windings. The PD sensors are installed on the three phases and on the neutral point to detect any PD signals of the HF range. Continuous monitoring of the system when applied can determine the condition of the insulation in the rotating machines.
